This is the final book in one of Piers Anthony's most wonderful series. I think I've read the whole series at least five or six times and finally decided to collect the soft cover versions when my library couldn't get them any more. You have to read the series from the beginning in order to make any sense out of what's happening.The underlying premise is that the gods are preparing for the final battle between good and evil. We're introduced to God, Satan and the lesser gods. There is no religious leaning in the story, so you can make whatever you want of it.Although I have indicated that there is some sexual content, it is more that it is alluded to. Fine for age 14 and up, I would think. The volume on the God of War, naturally contains some bloody battle scenes. Since it's in written form, it doesn't come across as vividly as a movie or TV show would. You can imagine it however you're comfortable - or simply skip to the end of those chapters without losing any of the story line.I have been a Piers Anthony fan since I was a teenager. I'm not crazy about all of his themes, but have read almost all of his books. Some of the more recent stand alone, short novels have a lot of punch and thought provoking themes.
Piers Anthony delivers yet another gem to his long list of great books. I have read all the books in this series before "And Eternity", and couldn't put this one down, either! It might upset some hard-core religious people, but it gives one something to think about when wondering why a prayer didn't get answered. It IS just fantasy, so I hope people remember that before getting angry!For those of us with imagination, isn't this a marvelous book?!?

I Love Piers Anthony! I have the entire Incarnations of Immortality series and love it! Have read it again and again! Will continue to buy them until he no longer writes them, may he live forever!!
Another great read in a great series.
Not the best of the series. I am plodding through it as I want to get them all read, but it has been my least enjoyable chapter of the story.
This was definitely an interesting idea. God being so focused inwardly that he forgot to do his job. Changing sexes certainly would have presented a unique viewpoint. It's too bad the book ended with the change instead of playing around with this concept more! Just think what fun it could have Been
This is the final installment in the series. All I have to say is that the ending did not disappoint me at all and that this novel left me feeling quite content with the journey I had taken with the incarnations of immortality.
